The company's new flagship product comes packed with a slew of features to improve performance and efficiency while DJing. They've added spacing around the EQ knobs, and the DJM-A9 also locks the Sound Color FX to include the first Center Lock feature so artists don't accidentally cross over between hi and low parameters.
The Beat FX are more prominent and the X-Pad has been revamped, arranged horizontally for simple finger sliding. Additionally, the Beat FX channel selector has its own dedicated button to enable quicker effect routing.
One of the most notable features is the ability for DJs to connect their own mobile device using Bluetooth technology. Once connected, the audio can be routed to any channel and leverage the DJM-A9's onboard effects. The mixer also has built-in WiFi connectivity so front-of-house teams can use Pioneer DJ's upcoming iPad app, Stagehand, to monitor and control the mixer.
